Welcome Pauline Rogers
Tutor and Patchwork & Quilting Expert:
With over 30 years of experience Pauline’s expertise covers a full range of techniques from appliqué and hand work, to machine piecing and quilting. Pauline began her career in the 1980s as a travelling patchwork and quilting tutor, commissioned by the Queensland Arts Council. She has been a featured tutor at the Australasian Quilting Symposiums and the Stitches and Craft Shows. Pauline has also been an integral part in the creation of numerous community quilts, several of which are listed in the National Quilt Register.
Pauline and her husband Rob are the owners of Quilters World, which began in 1996 as the first quilt shop in Toowoomba, Queensland. With a focus on educating quilters she has organised a multitude of workshops, retreats and events over the years, including the Outback Quilters Tour. In 2000, at the Queensland State Quilt Conference, Pauline was recognised for outstanding services to the establishment and promotion of patchwork and quilting in Queensland.
Over many years of teaching and operating a quilt shop, Pauline has acquired a wealth of knowledge and her passion for sharing this knowledge has grown stronger and stronger in that time.
She believes when teaching it’s important to focus on the process, whether it is about accurate cutting and piecing, or learning machine quilting. Having taught thousands of ladies to quilt – Pauline is an expert at giving students all the techniques to confidently progress with their quilting journey.
In 2015 Pauline produced a handbook on quilting which has been a great success. She is also working on a range of her own tools which are now being produced and marketed to quilters all over Australia and the world.
